West Bromwich Albion vs. Fulham: An Alternative Preview

    Probable Lineups:

west bromWest Brom (4-4-2): Foster, Jones, McAuley, Dawson, Ridgewell, Berahino, Yacob, Morrison, Brunt, Thievy, Anichebe

The Baggies are ready to welcome a few players back from the injury table as Billy Jones, Stephane Sessegnon and Jonas Olsson returning.  They won’t be expected to start the game, but it gives Pepe Mel options in this relegation six-pointer.  Nicholas Anelka is still out along with Claudio Yacob, who suffered a hamstring injury against Chelsea.

Fulham (4-2-3-1): Stekelenburg, Riether, Heitinga, Burn, Riise, Tunnicliffe, Kvist, Sidwell, Richardson, Holtby, Mitroglou

The club rock bottom of the Premier League, with a new management team along with several new signings, will have to start their quest to stay in the league with a win.  Felix Magath is ‘confident’ of the Cottagers survival and could unleash Greek striker Kostas Mitroglou against the Baggies.

    mitroglou

He hasn’t even played an English Premier League game yet, but there is no doubt that new signing Kostas Mitroglou is a class act.  Having just recovered from injury, Fulham’s survival hopes could rest on this Greek striker’s shoulders.

Fulham vs. West Bromwich Albion: An Alternative Preview

West Brom have failed to score in the first half of 14 of the 15 Barclays Premier League meetings with Fulham.

Fulham have lost none of their last six Barclays Premier League games against West Brom (W3 D3).

The Baggies have drawn 12 of their 26 Premier League games this season; at least three more than any other side.

Fulham have already used a league-high 34 players in the Premier League this season; five more than they did in the whole of 2012-13 (29).

West Bromwich Albion have seen 16 different players net a goal for them in the Premier League this season; more than any other side.

Claudio Yacob has made a league-high 98 tackles this season in the Premier League.

New Fulham boss Felix Magath will be the first German manager to take charge of a Barclays Premier League game.

Magath is vastly experienced in Germany and has managed seven different clubs and taken charge of 495 games in the Bundesliga (winning 231 – 46.7%).

Fulham have conceded the first goal of the game on 19 occasions this season in the Premier League; more often than any other club.

Pepe Mel has failed to win any of his five Premier League games as a manager so far, alternating between a draw and a defeat in those matches (DLDLD).
