Premier League LIVE: Chelsea vs Arsenal

    Probable Lineups:

arsenal chelseaChelsea (4-2-3-1): Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Azpilicueta, Lampard, Matic, Schürrle, Oscar, Hazard, Eto’o

Chelsea head into the London derby after knocking out Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday night, and with Jose Mourinho’s exceptional home record, should be confident of getting a positive result. The Blues will however be without Brazilians Willian and Ramires, who were sent off in their defeat against Aston Villa during the weekend. Frank Lampard and Andre Schürrle should fill those positions respectively, and expect Samuel Eto’o to lead the line in a home game at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal (4-2-3-1): Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Flamini, Arteta, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rosicky, Cazorla, Giroud

Tomas Rosicky’s rocket against Tottenham in last weekend’s North London derby now see the Gunners only four points behind league leaders Chelsea with a game in hand. With the Blues playing during the week, Arsene Wenger can capitalize on a jaded squad and possibly inflict Mourinho’s first ever Chelsea home defeat. Record signing Mesut Ozil is out till the end of April, so Wenger will be sweating on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s knock to provide an extra dimension in midfield.

    What the fans are saying…

    Remember this?

Chelsea concede their first home goal in the league that year.  Then their second.  Then their third.  All from Kanu.

    Fantasy Football Danger Man

    john terry

John Terry has been ever present in the heart of the Chelsea defence, but it is his knack of popping up with vital goals that brings him into consideration. A clean sheet gives another possibility to get points for the best defence in the league.

Chelsea vs. Arsenal: An Alternative Preview

Jose Mourinho has never lost against Arsene Wenger as an opposition manager (W5 D5 L0).

Arsenal have won away at Stamford Bridge more often than any other visiting side in the Barclays Premier League (7).

This will be Arsene Wenger’s 1000th competitive match as coach of Arsenal – his record in so far is W572 D235 L192.

The last five Premier League wins Arsenal have enjoyed at Stamford Bridge have all seen the Gunners come from behind to win.

Arsenal have failed to score in the two games against Chelsea this season (0-0 in the Premier League and 0-2 in the Capital One Cup, both at the Emirates Stadium).

Arsenal have won none of their last 11 Premier League meetings against Chelsea, Man Utd or Man City (W0 D5 L6).

Chelsea have recovered more points from losing positions than any other team in the Premier League this season (14).

This is Chelsea’s lowest points haul after 30 games of a Premier League campaign with Jose Mourinho at the helm (66), but their fifth best in Premier League history.

Chelsea have the best home record in the top flight with 41 points and are the only team not to suffer a home defeat in the Premier League this season.

Arsenal have the best away record with 29 points on the road, which is level with Spurs, but they have a better goal difference of +6.

The last Chelsea player to concede a Premier League penalty under Jose Mourinho was Khalid Boulahrouz and it was against Arsenal (May 2007).
