    FC Schalke 04 vs Basel

Schalke must win this game to secure a place in the last-16 of this Champions League.

A draw would be enough for Basel to get to the knockout stage of the Champions League for the second time in the history of the Club.

These sides have met only twice so far – the Germans are unbeaten against Basle having claimed a 1-1 draw in the Uefa Cup 2004-05 and a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture earlier in October.

Swiss sides are currently without a win in Germany in eight attempts, since Servette won in Berlin against Hertha back in December 2001.

German sides haven’t conceded a single goal in the last four games played at home against Swiss opponents.

Schalke have picked up just one point from their last three Champions League games; failing to score a single goal in the process.

Basel are unbeaten in their last three Champions League games, despite scoring only one goal in each of these fixtures.

Basel have scored and conceded goals in each of their last four away games played in Europe between this and last season.

Julian Draxler (two goals, one assist) has been involved in three of the four Schalke’s goals in Champions League this term.
