    Brighton have lost only one of their last six home clashes with Sheffield Wednesday in league competition, winning three.

    Sheffield Wednesday have lost just one of their last six opening day matches (W3 D2), though this defeat came last season (vs QPR, 1-2).

    In the last eight seasons, Brighton have won four and lost four of their opening matches in the league, but have lost the opener in both 2012-13 and 2013-14 against sides from Yorkshire.
