As I write, it’s friday night. The calm before the storm. Tomorrow Blackpool head to Nottingham, and by 5:00pm will have just five games to go. I reach for my wallet and pull out a small, laminated piece of paper. Something that every football addict is sad enough to carry with them at all times. [...] -

After five games, Paul Ince has finally managed to pick up three points. The win definitely came right on time too, with fans starting to lose faith and turn against the new manager. With ‘Pool now sitting in 13th place – higher than when Ince took over – and with any fears of relegation slowly [...] -

Another new manager was introduced to the increasingly frustrated Blackpool fans on Saturday, but nothing happened to lift the gloom around Bloomfield Road. Paul Ince took charge of his team for the second time against Leicester, having experience a loss in his first match against Leeds the previous Tuesday. After waiting nearly two months to [...] -

Glad you agree Peter. No real ‘news’ on the pitch to be honest. Poor decisions when originally laying it, sub-standard maintenance, and a lot of unfavourable weather has just led to it becoming unplayable recently. I don’t think it can be fixed until the summer unfortunately. Agree about Phillips playing on the right. I’m not [...]

It always sounds like a sorry excuse, and it is really, but it wouldn’t be totally untrue to say that Blackpool have been down on their luck recently. There have been a hatful of games (most notably at home to Wolves) where The Seasiders have done everything they can, but still come up short. Countless [...] -

The opening 20-30 minutes against Barnsley were dominated by the real Blackpool. Up-and-at-em, gun-ho football, played with quality and desire. Chance after chance was created and spurned, and it looked as though we might see back to back wins to end our recent slump. But then it stopped, and when Barnsley scored from us having [...] -

Sometimes three points can make everything ok? Unfortunately, this isn’t one of those times, but the weekend’s victory against Wolves has made everything feel a little bit better. Losing two managers in just a few months, coupled with a big dip in form, has started to leave the Blackpool manager’s job looking a little less [...] -

Who doesn’t want the job? We have only offered it to O’Dricoll as yet.

I don’t think there is any kind of ‘manager fiasco’. One guy has turned the job down and we are talking to a lot of other people. Unfortunately, every time we even consider talking to somebody it is all over the news, so some people assume the previous guy was offered the job and he [...]

I agree that he operates with double standards and is obsessed with money. But I’m not sure it is the chairman’s job to care about football. When Dave Whelan was popping up with comments about Roberto Martinez and Liverpool, everyone told him to keep quiet. And ‘embarrassing’ is a word I have read a lot [...]

The article is neither pro or anti-oyston.
I’ve said the pitch is awful and needs investment. I’ve discussed the transfers, and said that there are two ways of looking at it.
If you think oyston is wrong and should spend more to complete transfers then I wouldn’y necessarily argue with that. -

I do think the training ground needs investment, but I don’t think it is quite as pressing as the pitch. On the pitch is where it really matters, so that needs to be in great condition. Besides, the pitches aren’t too bad at squires gate, it’s just the facilities and weather that is awful.

This season has been interesting to say the least. Currently on the lookout for our 3rd manager of the season, having not sacked anyone, it would be fair to question what exactly is going on at Bloomfield Road. On the pitch, we went from absolutely sublime to utterly terrible in the first two months, and [...] -

The wettest summer for many a year, nationwide flooding, frosty nights and a very wet and windy December. All these things don’t help if you are a groundsman, but at Blackpool they are catastrophic. On a pitch that even in perfect weather conditions struggles to hold up for an entire season, the recent weather on [...] -

Two games, 38 shots, an average of 60% possession, total domination and chance after chance created. It was an exciting Christmas of football, but all this led to just 2 goals and 1 point, leaving the Blackpool fans, manager and players feeling like they had all the presents robbed on Christmas eve. If there was [...] -
