  • ThumbnailWhat a defining summer this could be at Arsenal. 12-months ago the club was deeply embroiled in two separate transfer sagas sending panic levels soaring around North London. The eventual sale of Cesc Faberags and Samir Nasri left Arsene Wenger with a monumental bank balance but little time to sufficiently purchase replacements. The consequences were severely [...]

  • ThumbnailWell according to Wigan chairman Dave Whelan he’ll waving goodbye to boss Roberto Martinez in the very near future. Supposedly he is the man Fenway Sports Group want to replace Kenny Dalglish in the Liverpool dugout. Hands up Kopites if he was your first choice? From Andre Villas-Boas to Brendan Rodgers to Fabio Capello to Rafa [...]

  • ThumbnailSo in the end it will be Thursday night football for Tottenham next season. The Blues Champions League triumph in Munich last week guaranteed them a seat at Europe’s top table pushing Spurs into the Europa League despite their fourth placed finish. It’s another smack in the face for Harry Redknapp after missing out on the [...]

  • ThumbnailYou get the feeling that this summer will be one of upheaval at Manchester United. In the wake of sacrificing their Premier League crown to noisy neighbours City the rumours have cultivated that Sir Alex Ferguson is planning a major overhaul in an effort to wrestle the title away from their rivals next season. Some of [...]

France, if they can keep it tight at the back

  • ThumbnailDidier Drogba laid the ghosts of Moscow 2008 to rest scoring the winning penalty  at the Allianz Arena as Chelsea triumphed over Bayern Munich in the shootout to seal the Champions League for the first time in their history . The Ivorian international, who is out of contract at the end of the season, had already [...]

  • ThumbnailYou have to admit the dethroning of Kenny Dalglish was almost inevitable paying the ultimate price for a season steeped in underachievement and scandal. Disregarding his past glories, reputation and standing with the Red’s support owners Fenway Sports Group decided it was time to wield the axe. Dalglish’s fate was unavoidable after the club finished eight in [...]

  • ThumbnailIn the end it all proved to be quite routine for Arsenal. Any lingering doubt over securing third place were put to rest as they triumphed over West Brom at the Hawthorns aided by the slippery mits of Baggies on-loan keeper Fulop.  Obviously the North London conspiracy theorists will be buzzing with that knowledge but it [...]

  • ThumbnailDid Manchester United lose the Premier League title or did City win it? The grimace on Sir Alex Ferguson’s face as he frantically ushered his players down the tunnel at the Stadium of Light evidently pointed to the latter. After all the Red Devil’s were mere seconds away from adding a 20th top-flight championship to their [...]

  • ThumbnailWatching their North London rivals steal third place from under their noses must have been tough for everyone connected with Tottenham Hotspur. After all it was a position they occupied for much of the season until a late collapse cost them the prize they craved most of all – automatic qualification to the Champions League. Speculation [...]

Disappointing conclusion to what has been a wonderful campaign from Newcastle. Admittedly i’m worried about juggling the Europa League with our domestic obligation.

  • ThumbnailThe final toot of the referee’s whistle will feel like sweet relief for Kenny Dalglish and his Liverpool players as they bring the curtain down on a testing season away at Swansea. The Reds boss has endured a campaign that will have pushed his blood pressure right to the limit with questions now being posed about [...]

  • ThumbnailIt would be wrong for Arsenal to prematurely count their chickens ahead of their final day visit to West Brom tomorrow as they look to secure automatic Champions League qualification. The Gunners are in pole position to achieve just that as they currently sit in third position one point ahead of their great rivals and two [...]

  • ThumbnailIt’s a scenario Tottenham never envisaged playing out earlier in the season. Riding high in third and on course to secure automatic qualification to the Champions League. Now they face a fight to hang onto their dreams of mixing it with the European elite as they head into the final game of the season at home [...]

  • ThumbnailIt appears that the omens are against Manchester United as they head into the final day of the season still grappling with rivals City for the Premier League title. The last time their noisy neighbours won a top division championship was back in 1968. Eerily both sides were level on points and United needed to beat [...]

Champions League? I’m daring to dream…

Well aware of Myles Anderson and his fathers influence. As I said in the article Kean has had players forced upon him effectively giving him to cash to autonomously spend.

As for the fans supporting Kean from day one? Couldn’t be any further from the truth. He was an unwanted entity after Allardyce left.

ThumbnailYou have to admit it’s rather apt that a chicken was found clucking around Ewood Park on Monday night. An historical idiom used to identify cowardice, it provided a stark correlation to Blackburn and the faint hearted efforts to prolong their top flight existence for another week. On an occasion where Rovers required every last drop [...]

  • ThumbnailAs the New Year bells ring out, wine is sloshed through clasping hands and auld lang syne is blasted through the jukebox hidden away somewhere in a secure location David Craig and the rest of the media hyperbole alliance patiently wait to be released. For January the 1st means only one thing. The transfer window is [...]
