Sometimes managers can’t do nothing but apologise for their team’s bad performances, while others find alternative ways to keep the fans happy.
Torquay boss Chris Hargreaves felt his team’s disappointment after another defeat leaving his team bottom of the English League Two with just one win from 12, so he decided to show an apologetic gesture to the travelling fans.
After their most recent lost, three Torquay fans out of 91 who travelled for the away game were given money by the manager to buy some drinks before heading home. After some thinking, he decided his three person apology wasn’t enough, so he decided to buy drinks for the remaining 89 fans.
With this in mind, Hargreaves is planning to repay the travelling fans by hosting a Q&A at a local pub near Torquay’s home stadium.
All 91 of the travelling fans were invited for receive their apologetic drinks, a move which could keep the fans happy a little longer.
