Chelsea’s advantage at the top of the Premier League could be kept at seven points this evening if West Ham are able to defy the odds and get a win over their London rivals.

Indeed, the Irons have beaten the Blues on their own patch once this term already, with an EFL Cup victory at the London Stadium one of only a handful of notable results for Slaven Bilic in what was a horrendous opening half of the campaign.

Things have picked up for West Ham since then, with the East End club now safely in midtable and showing green shoots of recovery. One of their biggest threats (literally and metaphorically) is Andy Carroll, and his skillset appears well-suited to exploiting a Chelsea weakness.

Antonio Conte’s men may have the best defensive record in the Premier League. But they have been vulnerable to crosses into the area in some big games – Dele Alli benefitted when Spurs beat them – and with the England international potent aerially, we think he is the biggest threat to the leaders.
