Many Premier League clubs have had their squads weakened as players head off to South Africa for the 2013 African Cup of Nations, Tottenham for one have lost striker Emmanuel Adebayor to Togo, but Spurs, along with QPR, have benefited from Cameroon’s under-performance on the world stage.
Cameroon are one of the traditional powerhouses when it comes to African football, having featured in four consecutive World Cups between 1990 and 2002, but they surprisingly lost to Cape Verde in the final round of qualifying for this year’s tournament.
That means that Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers are still able to call on the services of Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Stephane Mbia this month and instead of pulling on the Cameroon home shirt, they’ll be wearing the colours of the Lilywhites and the Hoops instead.
The Cameroon Home Shirt Replica is the result of an inspiring and highly creative collaboration with the artists from the Creative African Network (CAN) www.CreativeAfricanNetwork.com.
The unique lion graphic, designed by CAN artist Bartélémy Toguo, was inspired by the team’s nickname ‘Indomitable Lions’.
