The sensible thing would be to not take too much of what Jose Mourinho says at face value. When the Chelsea boss said there would be no more signings two days ago, he probably meant for the day, and not for the entire transfer period. Even now, Didier Drogba looks set to make a return to the club to fine tune the team’s attack to something far more favourable to Mourinho. But Chelsea’s unpredictable nature in the market could have a negative effect on Andre Schurrle, who really should have taken on more praise for his part in Mario Goetze’s World Cup-winning goal in the final against Argentina.
