Liverpool No.1 Simon Mignolet has adapted well to life at a major club since joining the Anfield ranks in the summer, but in terms of experience and proven quality, he unfortunately doesn’t come remotely close to Chelsea’s Petr Cech.
The Czech international is now by far the most seasoned goalkeeper in the Premier League’s top six, with 326 top flight appearances and three league titles under his belt since his Stamford Bridge debut back in 2004.
The veteran No.1 has claimed the golden glove twice before, and is on course make it a third this season with 16 clean sheets in 34 league outings. Likewise, his 68% shots-saved ratio is only bettered by five Premier League goalkeepers, whilst Simon Mignolet lays some way off at 17th (out of 30) with 62%.
An incredibly consistent all-round ‘keeper, strong in the air, composed with his feet and positionally exemplary, Cech is by far the safest pair of hands in the Premier League.
