Anderlecht striker Dieumerci Mbokani has opened the door for a January switch to the Premier League, by revealing that it is his dream to play in England.

The Democratic of Congo international has been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham ahead of the transfer window.

Mbokani has enjoyed a successful start to the season in Belgium, but admitted that of the opportunity to move to the Premier League came along, he’d find it hard to turn down:

"I want to stay but you never know. Anderlecht could receive an offer they can't refuse, so they have to accept.” He is quoted by Sky Sports via Het Laatste Nieuws.

"My dream is to play in the Premier League. Clubs from there are my first choice.”

He went on to suggest that he would also be open to a switch to a number of big European leagues, except France, where he endured a tough spell with Monaco.

"But my ambition is just to go to a top league - even Russia, but not France."

Mbokani joined his current club in 2011 from AS Monaco after an unsuccessful spell on the Mediterranean.

The 6ft. 1” forward has been widely praised for his combination of speed, strength and technique, and has been long linked with a Premier League switch.

It’s unclear as to what fee he would command, but Anderlecht would likely look to make a healthy profit on their investment.
