Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler has talked up the possibility of a move to the Premier League.
Draxler has emerged as one of Europe’s finest young talents over the course of the past year, establishing himself as a first-team player with Schalke and breaking into his national side’s senior set-up.
The Bundesliga club have remained adamant that the 20-year-old is not for sale, but the player himself says that he is keen to move to a big club in the future.
“The big two in Spain, Real and Barcelona, Bayern (Munich) and a few others from England, namely Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea,” Draxler told Sky Sports.
“I owe Schalke a lot, I have always been at Schalke. I need to emphasise this. But I’m not so rooted here that I could not tear myself away.
“I can honestly say that it is my dream to play for one of the big clubs at some point.”
Arsenal are believed to be the most interested of the English clubs, but Chelsea and United are also in the race.
Draxler would become one of a number of German players at the Emirates Stadium, and has talked up the abilities of recent Gunners recruit, Mesut Ozil.
“I’ve always said I’m a big fan of Mesut Ozil, who ventured abroad and developed at Real Madrid into a world-class player,” he added.
“Just to be a team-mate of his (with Germany) makes me quite proud.”
