Liverpool and Arsenal could reignite their pursuits of Barcelona attacker Isaac Cuenca before the January transfer window closes, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The 22-year-old forward has been heavily linked with the Premier League duo for much of the last year, yet a series of injuries have blocked potential deals.

However Cuenca has now returned to full fitness, and has been training with the Catalan side’s first-team since late last year.

But he has not featured for manager Tata Martino, which has opened the door for a potential loan move away from the Nou Camp.

The Barca boss is believed to be keen to keep his man, but says that he may move away before Friday’s deadline passes:

“We will see if he stays here or gets the chance to play elsewhere.”

Cuenca spent last season with Ajax after growing frustrated at a lack of opportunities at Barca, and finds himself in a similar position this time around.

The youngster is in direct competition with the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, Alexis Sanchez, Cristian Tello and Pedro for a starting berth, which has seen his playing time rationed over the course of the past few years.
