Tottenham to the signature of Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Sebastian Rode.
The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for the newly promoted Bundesliga side, helping them force themselves into contention for European qualification.
Rode has been ever present in their top flight campaign, notching two goals from midfield.
This form has alerted Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas, who is keen to add greater depth to his squad.
However, their North London rivals are set to enter the battle for the German U-21 international this summer.
As well as the Premier League duo, Bayern Munich are said to be interested, and are keen to continue their recent policy of signing the country’s top young talent.
Rode has confessed that he is flattered by the interest, and will explore his options at the end of the season:
“The interest is known to me. I’ll keep my feet on the ground and not start dreaming,” he is quoted by the Daily Star
“Eintracht Frankfurt and I have agreed to postpone the talks so I can concentrate on my football.”
Tottenham are believed to have made an approach for Rode over the summer, but were unable to agree a deal.
