Although he has been plying his trade outside of Europe the past few seasons, Thierry Henry will always be an Arsenal player. Sadly the Frenchman has decided to hang up his boots, but his talent will long remain in the memories of Gunners faithful and football neutrals alike.

With 360 goals to his name, Arsenal’s record goalscorer had some amazing strikes during his career in the Premier League. But some have withstood the test of time, as their beauty and significance remain within the people who were lucky enough to witness them live.

Here is our selection of Thierry Henry’s top FIVE goals for Arsenal.

Thierry Henry vs West Ham United

Although the goal wasn’t against top opponents by Arsenal’s standard, West Ham United were 2-0 ahead in their tie against the Gunners back in 2002.

With pressure mounting on the side, Thierry Henry showcased his ability as a world class striker by scoring a wonderful goal out of absolutely nothing.

The Frenchman was given a direct pass outside the box, but he somehow turned his defender and smashed a half-volley into the top corner of the net.

Thierry Henry vs Tottenham Hotspur

You are a hero if you manage to score for your club in a fierce local derby, but you become a legend if you manage to do so in this manner.

Picking the ball up in his own half, the Frenchman displayed his speed and dribbling ability... driving with pace during a counter attack, shrugging one marker before bamboozling two more prior to slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

And as he ran off, Henry slid over the Highbury grass with his knees... which became his iconic celebration moulded into a statue in front of the Emirates.

Thierry Henry vs Liverpool

Similar to the previous goal against Tottenham Hotspur, Henry picked up the ball this time near the half-way line, but this wasn’t a quick counter attack.

Spurs were containing the Gunners and although there wasn’t much space to exploit, Henry decided he had enough and went in on his own.

One, two, three, four players... then slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.

At full pace the Frenchman is almost unstoppable, with the goal helping Arsenal to a memorable 4-2 win at Highbury.

Thierry Henry vs. Sparta Prague

The only goal from the Champions League on the list. Not only was it a beauty but the strike put Thierry Henry level with Ian Wright as Arsenal’s record goalscorer.

The ball coming in from the air, Henry brought it down with a delicate touch with the back of his foot and when seeing he didn’t have a pass on, went for a curler with the outside of his foot which swerved past the outstretched hand of the goalkeeper.

It all looked too easy for the Frenchman, and after that went on to bag another to beat Ian Wright as Arsenal’s best ever striker.

Thierry Henry vs. Manchester United

Not only was this probably Thierry Henry’s best ever strike, but it will also go down as one of the Premier League’s greatest goals.

Henry burst into the scene at Arsenal in the 1999/2000 season, but he truly became a Gunners icon after this winning goal against the mighty Manchester United in his second year.

Again typical of Henry, the Frenchman made something out of nothing as he flicked the ball up following a pass and hit another half volley with his back to the goal... which flew over Fabian Barthez into the top corner.

As Andy Gray put it... that’s deliberate, that’s majestic... pure BRILLIANCE!
