The Germany international missed out on a spot in last night’s World Cup Final due to a cruel injury suffered in the warm-up after playing a key role in his side’s journey to their fourth title.
Reports over the weekend suggested that the Gunners were ready to pull out of a deal for Khedira due to worries surrounding the cost of a transfer, but now it is understood that a fee has been settled.
Arsenal are ready to take their spending well over the £50m mark to land the 27-year-old, who would become their second big money acquisition in recent weeks after Alexis Sanchez’s arrival.
Khedira is set to command wages in the region of £150,000-per-week, and is thought to be very keen on a move to north London to join compatriots Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski.
The potential move could also see Arsenal’s interest in Lars Bender end.
