Fierce North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal fans have both slammed their respective club’s transfer policy this summer, according to BT Sport.

Supporters on both sides have criticised the approach taken to securing transfer targets in the summer window, as either side failed to land a deadline day deal despite numerous links.

The Arsenal Supporters’ Trust labelled their activity as ‘disappointing’ and believe ‘one or two more additions would have strengthened the chances of winning a first title in 11 years.’

Despite securing the services of safe-hands Petr Cech early on in the window, the Gunners opted against bringing in a single senior outfield player – the only side in Europe’s top five leagues not to do so.

City rivals Spurs were involved in a nasty episode with West Brom concerning striker Saido Berahino, who has slammed the Baggies for blocking his move.

However, the Tottenham Supporters’ Trust are ‘concerned with the gaps that still exist’ in the squad at White Hart Lane.

Targets such as Victor Wanyama and Ayoze Perez could not be secured by the club, who now face the season with only Harry Kane has a recognised first team centre forward.

While they claim to ‘welcome the good signings that have been made’, they believe a ‘credible explanation’ is required.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino added the likes of Clinton N’jie and Son Heung-min to his squad over the summer, but sold off the likes of Etienne Capoue, Roberto Soldado and Paulinho in a huge squad clear out.
