Arsene Wenger is not interested in bringing Robin van Persie back to Arsenal from Manchester United, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Dutchman could be on the move from Old Trafford this summer, and has been heavily linked with a return to the Emirates.

But it is understood Wenger has ruled out the possibility of the 30-year-old returning, despite agents attempting to strike a deal.

The Arsenal boss refused to comment on the possibility of a move last week, which only added to the speculation surrounding the 30-year-old’s future.

Van Persie left the Emirates in the summer of 2012, and has still not been forgiven by the supporters after questioning the clubs ambitions and joining a major Premier League rival.

The Dutchman won the Premier League title during his first season at Old Trafford, but has struggled with form and fitness under David Moyes this season, and could be sold in the summer.

Italian giants Juventus are reportedly monitoring his situation, as they were before United signed him for £24million from Arsenal in 2012.

United boss David Moyes has been forced to deny there is any rift with the forward, who would miss out on a £10m loyalty bonus if he left the club in the summer, with two years remaining on his contract.
