Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that it would be a “dream” to see Liverpool’s Luis Suarez playing at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners were linked with the Reds’ talismanic forward over the summer, and even attempted an ill-advised £40m plus £1 offer to lure the unsettled ace away from Merseyside.

But, the Anfield side held firm to keep their man, and have reaped the rewards for doing so this term.

Despite having missed the opening five games of the season, the Uruguayan has smashed in a staggering 17 goals following his double in Liverpool’s 5-0 demolition of Tottenham at White Hart Lane yesterday.

Rumours suggest that Suarez’s current club are attempting to tie him down to a new contract, but Wenger says that he still dreams of signing the controversial hit-man:

“I think that every defender in England hates playing against him,” he is quoted by The Metro.

“He has a strong, provocative personality. From the information I gathered on him it appears that on a day-to-day level he is really easy to work with.

“Also that he’s respectful, he loves training, he’s an angel. He turns into a demon when he’s on the pitch.

“We all dream about having players like that.”

Suarez is also on the radar of Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants thought to be the player’s preferred option.
