The Express are reporting that the French full-back is on the verge of securing £10million move to the Emirates. The Toon are already preparing for life without Debuchy, as they finalise a deal for Holland’s Daryl Janmaat.
The former Lille man will become Arsene Wenger’s second signing this summer after Alexis Sanchez joined from Barcelona. Debuchy is expected to be officially unveiled this week, possibly as early as Thursday.
Fello right-back Javier Manquillo could also follow Debuchy to the Gunners, as Wenger prepares to fill the gap left by Bacary Sagna, who has joined Manchester City for a free transfer. Sagna’s contract expired this summer, and he becomes the latest Arsenal player to directly join a rival side, following in the footsteps of Robin van Persie, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri.
But Wenger is already looking forward with the signing of Debuchy, who played every minute for France during their World Cup campaign. The Frenchman also made 29 appearances last season in the Premier League, and scored his first goal for Newcastle in the 2-1 defeat to Sunderland.
But that looks likely to be his only goal in a Toon shirt, as he is almost certain to travel down to the Emirates.
