Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is plotting a summer move for Borussia Dortmund full-back Lukasz Piszczek, according to reports from TuttoMercato.

The Gunners look set to lose Bacary Sagna at the end of the season, with the French star’s contract due to expire.

A new deal has been mooted, but with the likes of PSG and Monaco ready to offer him a huge salary, a return to his homeland may be tempting.

As a result, Wenger is lining up alternatives, and has made PIszczek a top target.

The Polish international has been one of Dortmund’s top performers for some time, and was impressive during his home nation’s failed World Cup qualification campaign.

The 28-year-old is seen as the ideal replacement for Sagna, and the sort of player who can slot straight into the Londoners’ first-team.

Dortmund are far from keen to see another one of the better players leave at the end of the season following the announcement that Robert Lewandowski is to join Bayern Munich on a free transfer, but they may be unable to block the swoop if the defender is keen.
