The 18-year-old wide-man made headlines across the continent earlier this season as he became the Eredivisie’s youngest ever hat-trick scorer at just 17 – a record previously held by Bayern Munich superstar Arjen Robben.
Since then, the Gunners have been paying close attention to the teenager’s development, with Arsene Wenger believed to be looking at the possibility of bringing him across to London in the summer.
A source close to PSV confirmed that Arsenal’s interest is strong and that a move at the end of the season is a possibility:
“Bakkali is a player that Wenger rates highly.
“Arsenal have kept an eye on him and are aware that other teams want him, so could move in the summer to buy him.”
Real Madrid are also rumoured to be keen on Bakkali, while Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest.
Due to his agility, pace and skill on the ball, the youngster has already been compared to Barcelona ace Alexis Sanchez by one of his former coaches.
