Arsenal are plotting a £25m offer to win the battle for Swansea striker Wilfrid Bony, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Ivorian hit-man enjoyed an excellent debut season in the Premier League with the Swans last term, starring for them during an underwhelming campaign.

His impressive displays have attracted attention from Everton, Liverpool and Chelsea, but Arsene Wenger is keen to ensure that his side come out on top.

In fact the Frenchman is so eager to get a deal done that he’s willing to sanction a £25m offer for the former Vitesse Arnhem forward, as he looks to solve his need for a top class goal-getter.

Chelsea are seen as major rivals in the chase, but Jose Mourinho is believed to be far from willing to bid so much when Loic Remy is available for close to £8m.

Bony himself has indicated that he’s happy to stay at the Liberty Stadium, but he has also suggested that the chance to play in the Champions League would be too good to refuse.

Swansea are desperate to keep their man, but an offer of over £20m would mark a significant profit on the African ace.
