Olivier Giroud has been told to get himself a move back to France by his wife, according to the Daily Mirror.

Jennifer Giroud was forced to shut her Twitter account last month, after the Arsenal striker admitted to cheating on her.

Giroud was forced to apologise just hours before Arsenal’s FA Cup clash with Liverpool, after it was revealed he had slept with model Celia Kay.

Arsenal are believed to be in the market for a new striker in the summer, which means the 27-year-old may be forced to move in search of regular first team football regardless.

A source told the Sun on Sunday: “She’s agreed to take him back, but only on the condition they leave London and England.

“He’s desperate to save the marriage because he knows how stupid he’s been – so he is going along with what she wants.”

Reports also suggest Giroud has already met with ‘super agent’ Muzzi Ozcan to discuss the possibility of a switch back to France.

Giroud enjoyed a breakthrough season with Montpellier in Ligue 1, where his goals helped them towards a first ever league title, while also earning himself a call up to the France national side for Euro 2012.

Giroud completed his move to Arsenal in the summer of 2012.
