Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil says that he is eager to add more goals to his game and prove those who have doubted his ability and desire wrong next season.
The German playmaker became the Gunners’ record signing last summer as he arrived in a £42m deal from Real Madrid, with many hailing him as the player to fire the Londoners into a new era of success.
But despite some bright initial displays Ozil endured a difficult debut campaign, in which he only found the back of the net on five occasions in 27 Premier League outings.
Some fans and pundits have questioned his work rate and desire in the red shirt, with his lacklustre performances in knockout phase of the Champions League having earned him much criticism.
But Ozil says that he is working hard to improve, with adding more goals to his game a pressing concern:
“It’s true that I haven’t been a real danger, and I demand it of myself,” he is quoted by The Express.
“I am working hard at it, and although I did not do well in some situations, I’m working on finding a solution.”
