Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has called on Arsene Wenger to stay in his role as the club’s manager for next season.
The long-serving Frenchman’s contract expires in the summer, and as of yet he has not penned an extension.
Despite having been a part of the furniture in the red half of north London for the best part of 20 years he has come in for criticism from sections of the club’s support in recent times.
His tactical inflexibility and reluctance to spend big the in the transfer market have irked many fans, who believe that they are being left behind by the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea.
However Ramsey feels that Wenger must stay, and that the entire team want him to sign a new contract:
“Obviously he has been a big influence in my career so far so me and the rest of the team want him to sign his contract and secure his future and help this team,” he told the Daily Star.
“He believes in us and we believe in him. We feel like we have a lot of quality in the team to go on and have many successful years.”
Wenger has been offered a new deal by Arsenal, but he is ready to wait until after the FA Cup Final later this month to make a decision.
