Arsene Wenger has set his sights on signing Real Sociedad’s £25million-rated forward Antoine Griezmann, according to the Daily Star.
The French winger has been attracting huge attention from a number of top European clubs after a stellar season in Spain.
He has managed 19 goals in 38 appearances for the La Liga outfit, and has reportedly caught the attention of Real Madrid, Paris St Germain and Juventus.
Sociedad are desperate to keep the 22-year-old – who came through the clubs youth academy – on their books, but know they face a challenge to hold off interest from so many top clubs.
And Arsenal boss Wenger has openly revealed his interest in his fellow countryman.
“Yes, we follow him in great detail,” Wenger told Telefoot.
“That should not come as a surprise because he attracts other clubs as well.
“But we follow him, he is a known commodity.”
Griezmann is likely to earn a place in Didier Deschamps World Cup squad, where similar performances for the French national team could see his value sky-rocket further.
Wenger came in for criticism for his failure to add further attacking talent during the January transfer window.
Defeat to Stoke City at the Britannia on Saturday further dented the Gunners title challenge, with Arsenal now trailing league leaders Chelsea by four points.
