Julian Draxler does not want to leave Schalke for Arsenal this summer, according to his agent.

The German youngster is rumoured to be one of the Gunners top targets for the coming months after the Londoners tried, but ultimately failed, to secure his signature in January.

The Bundesliga giants refused to budge from their £37.5m valuation of the 20-year-old over the winter period, which eventually scuppered a deal.

Speculation has since suggested that Arsene Wenger will re-visit Draxler before 2014/15, as he looks to bolster his squad to build on FA Cup success and mount a sustained challenge for the Premier League title.

However the midfielder’s agent, Roger Wittmann, says that his client has no interest in leaving Schalke:

“He has to feel comfortable and he has to be happy,” he told Goal.

“Julian’s desire is to play for Schalke next season.”

Draxler was also linked with Chelsea and Manchester United as well as a host of clubs from across Europe – including Real Madrid.

Despite a late season dip in form, the Schalke ace was recently named in Germany’s World Cup squad.
