Liverpool's Luis Suarez

Arsenal are considering making a third bid for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, according to the Telegraph.

Yesterday the striker was quoted in the Uruguayan media as saying: “For now, owing to the affection shown me by the people, I would be staying.”

But Suarez was quick to deny the reports, adding: “I didn’t say it. Maybe someone else did; the main thing is that I am here now with the national team."

The Gunners are keen to test Liverpool's hold of the unsettled striker, after they made him train alone last week. Despite staying firm on his stance that the forward is not for sale, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has punished Suarez for his comments disrespecting him and the club.

While they wait for Liverpool to change their mind on the striker, Arsenal have taken hope from Suarez's public refusal to accept that he will be staying at Anfield. Wenger is keen to sign Suarez, after missing out on Gonzalo Higuain earlier in the transfer window. With just over two weeks left, the Frenchman is yet to spend a penny on a transfer fee.

While he waits to see if Liverpool accept his side's third bid for Suarez, Wenger must focus on Arsenal's home match against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Will Suarez be sold this summer? Should Arsenal be chasing him?
