Arsenal are ready to make a new approach for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender, according to Metro.
The Gunners had a £15million bid rejected for the 25-year-old last summer and his consistently been linked with a move to the Emirates ever since.
Despite only signing a new contract in October 2013, Bender is reportedly ready to leave the BayArena and is eying a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal his preferred destination.
And Arsene Wenger is ready to test Leverkusen’s resolve with an improved bid believed to be in the region of £21m, which should be enough to convince the Bundesliga side to sell up.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have confirmed their list of released players this summer, with Nicholas Bendtner heading up the list of 11 players set to be shown the Emirates exit door on June 30.
Only three players on that list have already found new clubs, as Bacary Sagna heads to Manchester City, Lukasz Fabianski seals a switch to Swansea and Zak Ansah joins Championship side Charlton.
