Zaha, 20, could leave Selhurst Park this winter for a fee of £20million, whilst historically shrewd negotiators Arsenal will start the bidding at £9million, the Daily Mail reports.
When asked specifically about his interest in the young England international, Wenger diplomatically stated that, “We are looking at every player who could strengthen our squad.” The Arsenal manager then sought to further distance the club from the player by adding, “He [Zaha] is not more on the list than anyone else.”
So far this term the Eagles striker has notched up four goals and three assists in the Championship as he makes a name for himself through skill and grace on the ball.
Zaha made his league debut in May 2010 as a 17-year old, going onto appear 112 times in his Palace career to date.
Meanwhille, news of Jan-Klaas Huntelaar’s interest in a switch to Arsenal this January puts the Gunners in a healthy situation moving into the New Year, whilst Olivier Giroud’s future at the club looks set to be challenged by an imminent new arrival to the Emirates come January.
