Arsene Wenger has urged Roy Hodgson not to pick Jack Wilshere for England’s friendly next month, as the Arsenal ace continues his rehabilitation.
The Gunners playmaker made his first start in over a year in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory against QPR on Saturday and while he successfully got through unscathed, Wenger is keen that he works back into football slowly and isn’t playing in any unnecessary fixtures why he continues his progress:
“It is a friendly! Jack should skip that. What is important now is that he gets back to full fitness for this team. Once he is back he will play for England again.
“I will have a little word, of course. Anyway, Roy will call me about him. A full game would be too much at the moment. I will speak about it with Roy, but what is important now is that he gets back to his level.”
