Arsenal have been handed a boost in the race for Jackson Martinez, with the Porto striker having revealed that he is unsure where his future lies.
The Colombian World Cup hit-man is a rumoured target for the Gunners, with Arsene Wenger thought to be considering him as a big name signing alongside Alexis Sanchez.
Arsenal were reliant on Olivier Giroud last term, and the Frenchman was ultimately unable to deliver the goals needed to keep the Londoners in the race for the title.
Martinez is thought to be seen as an option by Wenger, who has been linked with a £20m+ move for the South American.
The 27-year-old’s agent has revealed that there’s been contact with Emirates Stadium chiefs, which has plunged the forward’s future into doubt.
Now Martinez himself has fuelled talk of a move by claiming that he does not know where he’ll be next season:
“In this moment I do not know what is going to happen. I have a contract with Porto for two more years but there is interest from some clubs, which is normal.” He is quoted by talkSPORT.
“But I have to respect the fact that I have a contract that I should fulfil. Only time will tell what will happen.”
