Arsenal have already been exceptionally busy in the transfer market this summer, with the signings of Alexis Sanchez, Calum Chambers, Mathieu Debuchy and David Ospinosa constituting their most lucrative transfer window to date.

But if there's one notable gap in the Gunners squad that still requires addressing, it's undoubtedly the absence of a dependable goalscorer that can rival Olivier Giroud for the lone striking role.

Admittedly, top-class front-men aren't in hot supply this summer. But there are still some deals to be had that would significant improve the north Londoner's potency up top.

And being the lovely bunch we are at Football Fancast, we've decided to list FIVE of them...

MARIO BALOTELLI

Mario Balotelli

Arsene Wenger has been quick to deny claims that Arsenal are chasing after AC Milan star Mario Balotelli this summer:

Which is incredibly surprising because, of all the strikers potentially available to the Gunners in the current window, the Italy international is one of a rare few who can justifiably claim world-class status.

Of course, the former Manchester City badboy's ability to be a disruptive influence is well-known:

But his quality is equally undoubted, having netted 30 times in 54 appearances since joining the San Siro outfit in January 2013. He's got the capability to be a real match-winner too, this wonder-goal being a classic example:

Furthermore, despite Wenger's apparent lack of interest this summer, Milan's valuation of Balotelli appears to be dropping at an incredible rate:

SEYDOU DOUMBIA

Seydou Doumbia (CSKA Moscow)

I find it incredibly surprising that CSKA Moscow are yet to receive a bid for Seydou Doumbia, despite their star striker entering the final months of his contract and being a well-documented target of several Premier League clubs, including the Gunners:

The now retired Ivory Coast international comes with a prolific reputation, boasting a sensational return of 74 goals in 110 appearances for the Russian capital outfit, as well as 57 in 78 at former club BSC Young Boys.

Here's a look at all of Doumbia's strikes from last season - 20 across all competitions:

Famed for his stocky strength, blistering pace and lethal finishing, the 5 foot 10 forward is seen as a good fit for the Premier League. He's a potent entity in Europe too, with a career haul of 16 goals in 21 Europa league and Champions League outings.

The 25 year-old has been rated as highly as £30million in the past, but with Moscow facing the possibility of losing him for free next summer, they can surely be convinced to sell for significantly less.

WILFRIED BONY

Bony

Proven worth in the Premier League is a major advantage for any transfer target, which is why a number of top English clubs have been linked with Swansea forward Wilfried Bony:

Since joining the Welsh side from Vitesse last summer, where he had previously claimed 37 goals in his ultimate season, the 25 year-old has found 16 goals and four assists in 34 league outings. OptaJoe felt compelled to comment on Bony's impressive form:

Here are some of the highlights from his inaugural Premier League campaign;

A big-n-burley, old-school centre-forward who likes to hold up play, the Ivory Coast international would be perfect for Arsenal's lone striking role. As viewable below, he's a dominant force in the air, draws fouls regularly, is consistent on the ball and potent in front of goal:

Furthermore, recent speculation suggets the Swans are willing to lower Bony's release clause:

But thus far, a switch to local rivals Tottenham appears the most likely scenario.

KLAAS-JAN HUNTELAAR

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

It feels like a transfer window can't pass without Arsenal being linked to Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. But with the Schalke striker entering the final year of his contract at the Veltins-Arena, the recurring rumour could actually have some legs this summer:

Admittedly, the 30 year-old doesn't offer much to open play, as shown through his uninspiring passing statistics from last season:

Huntelaar passig

There's no doubting his ability to finish however. The Netherlands international has netted 91 goals in 139 appearances for the Miners and also boasts a healthy return of 35 goals in 65 outings for Oranje. Here's a look at Huntelaar's Top Ten goals:

Schalke claim they aren't looking to sell the former Ajax and Real Madrid striker:

But with just one season remaining on his current deal, now is undoubtedly the time to convince the Bundesliga outfit otherwise. That would likely take a fee of around £15million.

CARLOS BACCA

Carlos Bacca (Columbia)

Carlos Bacca is hardly a household name in world football but the Sevilla striker, nicknamed Chewbacca, set La Liga ablaze in his debut season and has resultantly been linked to a number of Premier League sides:

Indeed, the Colombia international's 21 goals across all competitions last season fired Los Palanganos to a fifth-place finish domestically and the Europa League title. Here's a look at his vitals from last term:

And the 27 year-old's campaign highlights:

No doubt, Bacca is a cool finisher with a rather unorthodox style:

And rated at around £15million, the 6 foot striker could be worth a punt for the Gunners. Spanish publication Marca claim however that he's already being eyed by Inter Milan:
