The Gunners are widely seen as favourites to lift the hallowed trophy this year, but they will have to negotiate a semi-final tie with Wigan today before facing the winner of Sheffield United and Hull’s other last four clash.
Although they have consistently finished in the top four, the Londoners have gone nine years without earning any silverware, which is a state of affairs which has irked many of the club’s followers.
Rosicky – who has won league titles in the Czech Republic and Germany with Sparta Prague and Borussia Dortmund respectively – is one of Arsenal’s more experienced players, and wants to help the younger stars to get their first taste of glory at Wembley in a few weeks’ time:
“It would be a big lift for everyone because you still have a lot of players here who don’t know how it feels to win a trophy,” he is quoted by The Express.
“Mainly the guys who are coming through like Jack (Wilshere), Aaron (Ramsey) and all these boys. They don’t know how success tastes, so it is a massive chance for us to win a trophy this year.
“It would be a building block for these boys.”
