Arsene Wenger named Ryo Miyaichi as one of the substitutes for last night’s crucial Champions League clash with Bayern Munich , only to realise the player had not been registered to play in the competition.
That meant the Arsenal manager had to make do with just six substitutes as he watched his side crash out of the competition at the hands of Bayern Munich for the second successive season.
As expected, though, Twitter uses had a field day as the news broke about Arsenal’s mix-up…

So Arsenal flew to Munich with an ineligible player and now only have 6 subs. I wouldn’t even do that on Football Manager! #WengerKnowsBest

Because having 7 subs is too mainstream #arsenal

So no striker on the bench for Arsenal. Plus only 6 subs due to some incompetence.

Arsenal are too good for Bayern Munich that, they went there with only 6 subs instead of the usual 7. #MissionIsPossible
