Arsenal look set to head back into the transfer market in the coming days, with rumours heavily linking the side with a move for German starlet Julian Draxler.

The club signed Granit Xhaka earlier in the window, and since that point things have all been quiet on the transfer front for the London side.

However, with rumours linking the side with a move for the Wolfsburg winger, it seems that Arsene Wenger is not yet done with his transfer dealings this summer.

Of all the areas that Arsenal really need to improve this summer, the attacking midfield definitely wasn’t of particular importance; so could we see anyone else join the club this summer in addition to Draxler?

With the club being linked to a host of other targets in recent days, that might just be the case.

Here are FIVE players that could follow Julian Draxler to Arsenal...

Gonzalo Higuain

A long term Arsenal transfer target, rumours have ramped up in recent days surrounding the future of Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain.

Higuain has been linked with a Premier League move throughout the summer, and if this Daily Star report is to be believed – it is Arsene Wenger that is making the first move.

Having scored over 70 goals in roughly 100 appearances for Napoli, the prolific front man is exactly what Arsenal need, and he could really be the signing to catapult the club back to the top.

Higuain is not the only attacking transfer target that could be on his way to the Emirates however.

Alexandre Lacazette

Lacazette

Another long-term Arsenal target, Alexandre Lacazette has been monitored throughout the window by the London side; and a bid could be expected at any moment.

Arsene Wenger has always had a fondness for French stars, and Lacazette definitely fits that mould. The prolific front man is now 25 years old and has definitely outgrown the French league.

Like Higuain, a host of Premier League clubs are after the French superstar, but Sky Sports are placing Arsenal as the frontrunners for the forward’s signature.

This one has all the makings of an eventual deal.

Mauro Icardi

Icardi

Like with Alexander Lacazette, Mauro Icardi has been linked with Arsenal for the majority of the summer, and in recent days the whispers have gotten louder regarding his future.

Sky Sports rate his chances of making the move relatively highly, though he would likely be third in line after Lacazette and Higuain with Arsenal looking for a Striker this summer.

The current Inter captain would bring some imperative qualities to this Arsenal side should he join, offering a prolific goal scoring record, outstanding leadership skills and unrivalled technical ability.

With Arsenal definitely in the market for a striker; anything could happen.

Moussa Sissoko

A bit of a more unusual reported target comes in the form of Moussa Sissoko, who is looking for the exit door following Newcastle’s relegation to the Premier League last season.

Sissoko was inconsistent at best last season, but under Arsene Wenger and when surrounded by the quality of players that Arsenal have – he could really find his form.

The Daily Star is suggesting that Arsenal are favourites to land the French midfielder, who would likely be available for a cut price fee, especially if he tells his club that he wants the move.

If Wenger is looking for added depth in his attacking line; Sissoko could be the man.

Neven Subotic

Surprisingly one of the few defensive targets linked with Arsenal in recent days, Neven Subotic could be the perfect player to take that pesky central defensive spot in the Arsenal XI.

Wenger has been searching for a partner for Laurent Koscienly all summer, and with Subotic revealing his plans to leave Dortmund in June – he could be the perfect match.

A stalwart in defence, and with likely a smaller fee in mind given his insistence on leaving the club; is there a better choice in world football for Arsenal right now?

According to esteemed journalist Emmanuele Giulianelli, the deal is edging ever closer, and it could happen at any point.

What a great signing that would be.
