Arsenal are in talks with Everton to sign striker Romelu Lukaku, according to Italian transfer specialist Emanuele Giulianelli.

Lukaku has been subject to plenty of speculation this summer with regards to his future, with Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG all being linked with a move for the big Belgian, but it seems Arsenal are now the closet to securing his coveted signature.

The 25-goal-man of last season enjoyed his best Premier League season to date as he was the stand-out performer in what was an an otherwise disappointing season for the Toffee’s, who finished in the bottom half of the table and later sacked manager Roberto Martinez.

The former Chelsea and West Brom striker’s powerful performance alone at the spearhead of Everton’s attack impressed many, with his ability to both hold the ball up as well as run in behind and at defenders catching the eye of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

While new Everton boss Ronald Koeman would love to keep Lukaku at the club, it seems he is fighting an uphill struggle as the striker has been vocal about his wish to leave this summer.

If he was to go to the Emirates, it would be a marquee signing for the Gunners this summer as they look for a 20 goals a season striker.

But who else could follow him to the Emirates?

Yannick Carrasco

Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco

Lukaku’s Belgian counterpart Carrasco had a breakthrough season to remember at Atletico Madrid - the highlight being his late equaliser in the Champion’s League final against Real Madrid, despite his side going on to lose in dramatic fashion.

The attacking midfielder got 5 goals this season, mostly from the bench, but impressed with his pace and trickery out wide.

Julian Draxler

Draxler has been long linked with a move to the Emirates, and after a brilliant debut season with Wolfsburg and an impressive Euro 2016 with Germany, Arsenal want their man more than ever.

The midfielder has always stood out as an Arsenal-esque player - tricky, skilful and with an eye for a pass, the former Schalke man could link with up well with Mesut Ozil in the Gunner’s midfield.

William Carvalho

Another long standing transfer target of the Gunners, the Sporting Lisbon man has had another impressive season in Portugal and has extended his contract with his current club till 2020. While a move may be unlikely, the right money could lure the highly rated 24 year old to North London, however his value is likely to rise having enjoyed a successful Euro 2016 where he helped his Portugal side reach the final.

Borja Baston

Baston

Chronic loan star Baston once again gave a great account of himself while at La Liga surprise package Eibar this season. The Spaniard scored 19 goals in all competitions, which follows his also impressive total of 22 in the previous season while on loan at Zaragoza. If Atletico Madrid don’t want him back, Arsenal could swoop in and steal him - even if only for the year.

N’Golo Kante

Viera. Gilberto. Petit. Arsenal’s midfield has lacked the drive and bite it once had that allows the more creative players to flourish in recent years. Many have branded the Gunner’s midfield too nice, and they may be right.

While Francis Coquelin has impressed, Arsene Wenger still lacks a legitimate world class holding midfielder, however the Premier League’s new Claude Makelele, Leicester’s N’Golo Kante, could certainly solve this problem.
