Arsene Wenger staying at Arsenal makes sense in some ways.

In recent weeks, there has been debate amongst football pundits and a difference of opinion from the Arsenal faithful as to whether Wenger should stay or leave this summer.

Many want Wenger to leave, citing a lack of inspirational signings, a lack of trophies and a wasted 2015/16 season in which Arsenal could have walked off with the Premier League title.

The performances this year have verged on the chaotic, whilst only a hand full of decent games stick in the memory.

The Champions League is an enigma to Arsenal. Every season they qualify without fail. Every season they get through the group matches and then as soon as the knock-out stages come along, they roll over. Granted they met Barcelona most recently, but with the amount of experience this club have had, fans expect more of a challenge.

Previous F A Cup victories have been welcome, but only serve to paper over the cracks of a team that needs more quality and with a reported £200m in the bank, it's time to spend it.

On the other hand, Arsenal football club have never had it so good, so maybe the 66 year old Frenchman should stay. Here are FIVE reasons why he should continue at the Emirates:

Success

There's no reason why Wenger can't bring one last notable piece of silverware to the Emirates. He has the experience and, if he buys the right players, then the team will be one capable of challenging in all competitions. To compete in the Champions League, Wenger knows he needs a star name and players with the pedigree of Alvaro Morata are attainable targets.

Youth

Very few managers in the Premier League have given youth a chance like Wenger. Recently Alex Iwobi has come through the ranks and is proving to be another one of Wenger's wonderkids, while Francis Coquelin has emerged from the youth teams, as well as Hector Bellerin and Jack Wilshere. Youth will certainly get its chance at the Emirates, and Wenger's thinking is simply that players, once given the chance, will give you more back.

One More Year

Arsene Wenger (16)

Wenger has just the one season left on his contract after serving the club with distinction for 20 years. He is without doubt the club's most successful manager ever and not many people would deny him the chance to see out his contract in full and go when he's ready. There's the possibility of a move upstairs, but no one at Arsenal will ask him to go or sack him, so give him his last year, Arsenal fans.

Behind The Scenes

The things you don't see are the things that set Wenger apart. Nothing goes on at Arsenal without his knowledge or his say so. The indoctrination of his philosophy runs into the youth teams below the under 21s and the young, future talent of the club is being fed the right information on behaviour, diet, fitness, attitude and how to play the kind of football that Wenger wants. This mentality, this way of life, will outlast Wenger and will form a solid foundation for years to come.

Talent Spotting

ARsene Wenger (15)

Nobody has had a better eye for an emerging talent than Wenger. His track record speaks for itself and those players that have emerged under his tutelage have gone on to become household names and Arsenal legends. Henry, Fabregas and Vieira are just three of a multitude of great signings that shaped the Arsenal future. There will always be a missed chance or one that doesn't ever get to the pinnacle imagined for him, but largely Wenger's astute eye for future talent is the envy of many.
