Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski

Big spending Turkish club Galatasaray are set to bid for Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski among others this summer, according to the Metro.

Galatasaray are hoping to spend their way back into the big time of European football and the January additions of Didier Drogba and Wesley Seijder went some way to doing that.

Another transfer window of splashing the cash is set to tempt a number of players to Turkey and the Gunners may accept a £12million bid for the underperforming German.

Podolski has not hit the ground running this Premier League season at The Emirates, despite operating from the left hand side for the majority of his time at the club.

Galatasaray are also expected to make a move for Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben as new boss Pep Guardiola is apparently not keen on the Dutchman despite his stunning goal against Barcelona helping Bayern into the Champions League final at the Nou Camp yesterday.
