Bayern Munich and Germany hero Lothar Matthaus believes that Arsenal have already reached an £8m agreement for Nurnberg striker Josip Drmic.
The Swiss international has established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s top young forwards this year after joining his current side in 2013.
Arsenal have been linked intensely with his signature in recent weeks, with some reports suggesting that his wife was already looking at properties in London ahead of a move.
It has since emerged that the player is indeed single, but speculation has not gone away.
Now Matthaus – who has good form for his knowledge of the German transfer market – says that he believes a deal for Drmic to join Arsenal is already complete:
“You will see Drmic will go to Arsenal for 8 million – I was right before and I’ll be right again.” He is quoted by The Express.
Matthaus has a decent record for predicting transfers, with the German icon having previously revealed the deal for Robert Lewandowsi to join Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund and the arrangement for Hertha Berlin’s Adrian Ramos to replace the Polish ace at the Westfalenstadion.
