Napoli are considering a January move for soon to be out of contract Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna, according to reports from CalcioMercato.

The French full-back looks set to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season at the very latest, with his current deal in North London due to expire in shortly over six months’ time.

Even though he has been a solid performer for Arsene Wenger, the Gunners chief appears unwilling to extend his compatriot’s stay in England, and is already rumoured to be on the lookout for replacements heading into the New Year.

Although interest from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco is said to be strong, Napoli manager Rafael Benitez is weighing up a move for Sagna.

Barcelona’s Martin Montoya – who has been linked with Liverpool – is reportedly his first choice target, but with the La Liga side keen to keep him until the end of the season a January deal would appear to be tricky.

Arsenal on the other hand may be more receptive to an offer for their man next month, with Wenger keen to receive a fee, albeit a likely relatively small one, for the 30-year-old.
