Arsenal have been given a huge ray of light ahead of a make or break game against Manchester United this weekend with the return to training of first choice keeper Wojciech Szczesny.

After a last gasp victory against QPR, Wenger will be looking for all the help he can get against old sparing partner Fergie and with goalkeeping issues being an understatement in recent weeks, the Pole’s return could not come at a better time after a six week layoff.

With reports that Szczesny is set to start the Super Sunday game, Gunners fans can breathe a sigh of relief after weeks with less than inspiring third choice keeper Vito Mannone - the keeper who handed Norwich the winner days ago and has been guilty of several other suspect performances during his 10 game spell in between the posts..

Their number one choice keeper has been “back in full training” after an injury hit season including problems with his ribs and ankle. Goal have even claimed that they understand Szczesny will be “fast-tracked into the team for the trip to Reading in the last-16 Capital One Cup tie on Tuesday night.”

Despite players such as Cazorla and Arteta being sensational for the Gunners this season the return of the Pole will have a “massive bearing” on the future of Arsenal’s quest to finally end their trophy drought with the United game  the Mirror have called an “accurate measure of their credentials to challenge for the title.”
