Arsenal returned to Premier League winning ways with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Swansea on Saturday. It was a badly needed three points after slipping up against Bournemouth in the last round of fixtures.Goals from Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez helped the Gunners to the win, also aided by two Swansea own goals. It could have been a tricky afternoon for Arsene Wenger's men. New Swans boss Paul Clement was taking charge of his first home game and that always presented the chance Swansea would raise their game massively. They did impress in the first half and Arsenal arguably scored against the run of play. From that point on though there was only going to be one winner. That vital first goal came from Olivier Giroud and this stat from Squawka shows just how important his impact has been over the last few weeks or so.

Before this burst of form, Giroud had gone five games without a goal and his improvement couldn't have come at a better time with others in the Arsenal team seeing their performances dip a little.

Take the Bournemouth game for instance. He was absolutely vital that day with his goal and two assists dragging the Gunners back to earn a point from three goals down.

Arsenal have a lot of work to do if they're going to be title contenders but at least in Giroud they have someone that can step up to the levels reached by the likes of Alexis Sanchez.
