There’s no better place to start this list than Arsenal’s already well-documented big-money target for the summer window; Schalke’s Julian Draxler.
The 20 year-old burst onto the Bundesliga scene last season, netting 13 times from attacking midfield in all competitions and muscling his way into the German national team.
He’s continued to impress this year, with four goals and seven assists in 24 appearances for his efforts in the Bundesliga and Champions League combined, also averaging 1.5 shots, 1.3 key passes and 3.8 successful dribbles per match.
Due to his playmaking abilities, lethality from long range, exceptional skill and unusual 6 foot 2 frame, many have compared the Die Mannschaft international to the legendary Zinedine Zidane, and Draxler is now regarded as one of the most talented youngsters in world football.
Arsenal came close to signing the Miners prodigy in January, but after failing to do so will undoubtedly revive their in the summer when Draxler’s £37million release clause becomes active.
But the North London side face formidable competition in the form of Bayern Munich; Toni Kroos looks set to leave the European Champions at the end of the season, and Draxler has already been lined up as his replacement.
