For some, Arsenal’s meeting with Bayern at the Emirates tonight is just a formality, that over two legs Bayern will go through quite comfortably. Not only do Bayern possess the strongest squad in Europe, they’re also led by a master tactician in Pep Guardiola who has shown his ability to outthink his opposite number multiple times over the years.

But Arsene Wenger isn’t giving up before a ball is kicked. Both publically and privately he will be firmly in the state of mind that his side can pick up results against the current European Champions. Doing so, however, will take a number of small victories across the pitch resulting in victory on the scoresheet.
