Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas could make a return to the club after not reaching the performance expected of him back at his childhood club Barcelona. The midfielder could be quite useful on his return to the side as he could be deployed in the striker’s role should Olivier be unavailable. Fabregas is a usual central midfielder, so competition for places in that role will be quite high.
He appeared in 55 of his team’s matches this season but only found the net 12 times, even with his more attacking role under former manager Gerardo Martino. However, the Spanish international did provide 22 assist for his team mates, so his creativity is surely still there. The Gunners could spend a high £44 million to bring him back to England keeping in mind the fact that they only received £30 million when he left.
