Arsenal have been dealt a transfer blow, with Spanish goalkeeper Kiko Casilla insisting he has no intention to move to the Emirates this summer, according to talkSPORT.

The Espanyol goalkeeper is believed to be high on Arsene Wenger’s list of transfer priorities, with doubts persisting over whether Wojciech Szczesny remains suitable for the Gunners’ long term future.

The Pole has come under fire following a poor display in the 6-0 defeat to Chelsea at the weekend, a week after he posted a ‘selfie’ on his Facebook page celebrating the win over Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

27-year-old Casilla is one of the most sought after goalkeepers in Spain, with Real Madrid and Manchester United believed to be two of the clubs who have expressed an interest in his services.

Speculation over his future has heightened in recent weeks following the club’s failure to agree a new contract, but Casilla himself has offered assurances he will be staying with Espanyol.

“I have one year left of my contract and I always keep what I have signed. In addition, the renewal will be arranged. At Espanyol I am playing and enjoying. Here I feel very comfortable and I have always said that I want to stay,” Casilla told El Mundo Deportivo.

“I do not know much about the renewal nor do I want to know until it is all done. My role is to be focused on the job and contribute my bit to the team. I insist that I will play here next year.”
