This weekend's North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham was far more of a tense affair than many were expecting.

The game finished 1-1, with a Kevin Wimmer own goal gifting the hosts the lead before Harry Kane converted from the penalty spot to level just after half time, following a foul on Mousa Dembele on the edge of the area.

There were few chances elsewhere at either end, with only five shots on target shared between the two sides throughout the 90 minutes.

The Gunners - who went into the game on a fine run of form - could have gone top of the Premier League table with victory, but instead let the chance slip away as Tottenham maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino's men are yet to lose in the Premier League despite some woeful performances in Europe, and remain the only team in the league without a loss since the beginning of the season.

A point won't be a bad result for either side, however both will leave feeling they could have taken more from the game. Here are three images that sum up today's affair at the Emirates.

Guess who's back?

Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

That is 16 goals in 23 North London Derby appearances for the fit-again Harry Kane, which is an outstanding return.

The Englishman made a big difference to Tottenham's front line this afternoon and coming back from injury seemed to lift both the squad and the fans following what has been a difficult couple of weeks. The talismanic Kane will be a force to be reckoned with once he is at full fitness again.

Midfield Maestros

Mousa Dembele ruled the roost for Tottenham today as his man of the match performance was something to admire amidst a star studded midfield.

Calm on the ball and commanding when going forward, the Belgian was the star of the show. His counterpart Granit Xhaka wasn't exactly bad either in a game that was battled out mostly in the middle of the park.

Pochettino Frustrated

Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

While Mauricio Pochettino will be somewhat pleased with the result today and indeed the performance, the Argentine still look frustrated at his side's inability to get all three points for the fourth successive Premier League game.

A win for the Lilywhites today would have been the result to kickstart their season, however it wasn't to be and once again, although their unbeaten run goes on, Spurs still aren't looking like a side threatening enough to mount a real title challenge.
